Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
I am in the network of some insurance plans and will work within those plans as the plan requires. For other insurance plans, I will provide a detailed receipt with the information required to submit for your own personal reimbursement.
This topic is something we can discuss at an initial phone consultation.
Am I involved in my child’s therapy?
I value the benefit of teamwork in working with parents to support the needs of the child. I also value the benefit of rules of confidentiality when working with minors. When determining a parent’s level of involvement, I take into account the age and developmental level of the child, the circumstances that are bringing the child into treatment, legal rules of confidentiality for psychologists and my relationship with the child.
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Especially during this time of COVID-19, I offer both in-office and virtual appointment options. Post COVID-19, I expect to continue to offer a virtual telehealth option as allowed by your insurance and by state regulations.
How do I know that you’re the right therapist for me or for my child?
I encourage you to reach out for a free phone consultation to gain some initial impression of my style and approach to therapy. Following that, if you decide to schedule an initial appointment, we will meet together and work to understand if our “fit” feels right for you to continue to work with me. Sometimes it takes a few sessions to fully understand the “fit”. I encourage open dialog and questions so that you can feel comfortable in your ultimate decision about this very important life decision for you or your child.
